Cressi Commander Cold Water Scuba Package
The Commander Cold-Water Scuba Package is an integrated life-support configuration engineered for divers operating in thermally challenging and high-demand environments. Each component—BCD, regulators, instruments—has been selected and optimized to deliver consistent gas delivery, stable buoyancy, and high-fidelity data feedback across a wide temperature and depth range. The result is a system that maintains performance precision from temperate waters to near-freezing conditions.
COMMANDER EVOLUTION BCD — HYBRID BACK-INFLATE BUOYANCY PLATFORM
The Commander Evolution utilizes a full dorsal air cell combined with a streamlined harness and jacket-style geometry to balance trim efficiency with frontal stability.
-
19 kg / 42 lb of lift, engineered to maintain buoyancy control when diving with steel cylinders and thick exposure protection.
-
LAS 2.0 Integrated Weight System: mechanical latch-release design offers secure load retention with intuitive one-hand operation.
-
Lightweight, quick-drying padding: built from low-water-absorbency materials that reduce post-dive weight and improve mobility.
-
Dual zippered cargo pockets and modular attachment points optimize loadout distribution and reduce drag.
This hybrid architecture reduces rotational torque, enhances horizontal trim, and provides predictable buoyancy response throughout the dive.
MC9-SC / COMPACT PRO — COLD-WATER BREATHING SYSTEM
The MC9-SC/Compact Pro regulator system is engineered for cold-water reliability while maintaining low mass and minimal breathing resistance.
MC9-SC First Stage
-
Balanced diaphragm design preserves intermediate pressure stability across tank pressure variations and depth changes.
-
Sealed Chamber (SC) environmental protection isolates internal mechanisms from ice formation and particulate intrusion.
-
High-flow output ports and streamlined internal pathways reduce turbulence and deliver consistent gas flow in sub-10°C / 50°F environments.
Compact Pro Second Stage
-
Ultra-compact ABS + elastomer design, with a 6 cm / 2.36 in housing for reduced weight and low jaw fatigue.
-
Pneumatically balanced mechanism engineered with minimal component count for improved reliability and simplified servicing.
-
145 g / 5.15 oz total mass, ideal for travel and for maintaining trim during stage or alternate air source deployment.
This combination produces dependable breathing performance during prolonged exposure to cold conditions with minimized freeze-risk.
OCTOPUS COMPACT PRO — LIGHTWEIGHT REDUNDANT AIR SOURCE
The Octopus Compact Pro uses the same simplified, high-strength design as the primary second stage, ensuring consistent breathing characteristics during emergency deployment.
Technical Features
-
Low-mass ABS structure reduces jaw load during air sharing.
-
High-visibility components aid rapid identification.
-
Designed for minimal icing potential due to reduced thermal mass.
RAFFAELLO DIVE COMPUTER — MULTI-GAS COLD-WATER COMPUTING PLATFORM
The Raffaello integrates advanced decompression algorithms with robust environmental durability:
-
RGBM algorithm with support for three gas mixes, enabling nitrox and advanced multi-phase profiles.
-
High-contrast display housed in a scratch-resistant casing for visibility in low light and murky conditions.
-
Digital 3-axis compass with tilt compensation for accurate navigation.
-
Bluetooth/USB logbook connectivity for streamlined dive data management.
Engineered for operational reliability across temperature gradients and repetitive dives.
DIGI2 — COMPACT DIGITAL CONSOLE
The Digi2 provides analog-equivalent sensor clarity with digital precision:
-
Displays depth, tank pressure, dive time, water temperature simultaneously.
-
Automatic activation eliminates pre-dive setup complexity.
-
Low-energy, user-replaceable battery reduces service downtime.
-
Compact housing reduces drag and allows easy mounting.
SYSTEM-LEVEL ENGINEERING INTEGRATION
Together, the components form a thermally stable, lightweight, and hydrodynamically efficient cold-water dive system:
-
Reliable gas delivery protected against freeze events
-
Stable buoyancy with hybrid dorsal-lift architecture
-
High-visibility, multi-gas dive computing
-
Compact, rugged instrumentation with minimal maintenance overhead
The Commander Cold-Water Scuba Package is engineered for divers requiring uncompromising reliability, thermal performance, and ergonomic control in environments ranging from moderate coastal conditions to icy depths.
